Jean-François Martins, Patrick Klugman, Deputy Mayors of Paris and Hermano Sanches Ruivo, delegate counsellor on Europe for the City of Paris, will open on Monday the Place de l’Europe (Square of Europe) set up especially on the occasion of UEFA EURO 2016.

From June 18th to July 10th, the forecourt of the City Hall will be turned into the Place de l’Europe, a place of high place of discovery of the European culture that will have a central place in the programming of the UEFA EURO 2016.

Initially planned on the river banks, this event had to be relocated due to heavy rains that lead to floods in the beginning of June. Thanks to the reactivity and the work of the city agents and delegations of the competing countries. It will finally take place on the square in front of Paris City Hall, renamed “Place de l’Europe” for the occasion, and will be freely accessible everyday.

Everyday, visitors will enjoy an exceptional programme co-organised by the City of Paris and the delegations of the countries competing “Play”, “Thrill” and “Think” together around culture, European values and football.

02:15 p.m.: Arrival of the ambassadors and representatives

02:40 p.m.: Official opening speeches

02:55 p.m.: Q&A

03:10 p.m.: Strolling around on the Place de l’Europe
